What makes Foundations of Fútbol Coaching different?
Unlike other coaching programs, which focus only on tactics and technique – our program mixes Spanish soccer methodology with a growth mindset.
The Growth Mindset is used by the world’s top coaches and psychologists to help athletes and high performers achieve greatness.
By implementing a growth mindset along with gold-standard soccer tactics, you are giving your players the tools to grow and succeed.

Hi, I’m Khalil, Co-Founder of the Virtual Fútbol Academy.
And coach for my son’s soccer team.
In 2019, my son’s U9 team won their league. As we prepared for a tougher division, I aimed to ensure the kids kept developing while enjoying the game. While I was confident in motivating the kids, I realized I wanted to raise my level of coaching.
I turned to a good friend, David Brown, a former U.S. youth national team player and founder of the RC Celta Academy in Philadelphia, a franchise from La Liga. He introduced me to a Growth Mindset practice developed by Stanford professor Carol Dweck.
This mindset helps the kids embrace learning while staying committed to improving.
But mindset alone wasn’t enough—we needed to sharpen our tactics.

This led me to learn the Spanish methodology. Combined with the Growth Mindset, the boys moved the ball smoothly and played more confidently.
By season’s end, we won the league again.
This became the core of our philosophy, showing that every coach can unlock their full potential by combining Spanish methodology with the Growth Mindset.
And that’s what the Virtual Fútbol Academy is all about.
Hi, I’m Dave, Co-Founder of the Virtual Fútbol Academy.
I've dedicated my life to soccer.
Not only by playing it but also by nurturing a deep love for the sport. As a young player, I played at the highest levels, earning a spot on the U.S. Youth National Team.
I found that being a player and a coach was very different. Even with success on the field, I only realized this after making the switch. I knew soccer tactics—I knew how to play.
But teaching young players how to think, grow, and love the game requires something else.
So, I began to learn again. I dove into Spanish fútbol methods and mixed them with Growth Mindset psychology. This approach, from Stanford, helps kids enjoy learning and improving.

I created the Virtual Fútbol Academy because I want every coach to access the same excellent training and insights that top coaches use.
My mission is simple:
✅ Help coaches become better teachers of the game
✅ Give them proven methods for motivating young players
✅ Cultivate a generation of kids who not only play excellent soccer but also fall in love with the game for life
